When Jonas Trindler walked into Futurice’s Helsinki headquarters in November 2024 as the newly appointed CEO, he brought with him more than two decades of consulting experience – and a fresh, global perspective.

Originally from Switzerland, with seven years in Singapore building a business from scratch to €45M in annual revenue across Asia Pacific, Trindler now leads Futurice into its next phase of international growth.

As Futurice approaches its 25th anniversary in 2025, the company remains renowned for its people-first culture, expertise in strategy, design, technology, and pioneering work in AI and data. Trindler’s leadership signals an ambition to expand that reputation beyond its Nordic roots.

A global vision for the future

Trindler’s arrival at Futurice comes as businesses across the world rethink their priorities in a post-pandemic world. Futurice is doing the same, and the next step is translating success in Finland into a scalable, cross-border growth strategy.

“Jonas has brought a clear, pragmatic mindset,” says Tuomas Syrjänen, Futurice co-founder and Board chairman. “He understands the technology and international markets in Europe and Asia, but he also sees how culture and communication drive change at Futurice and our clients.”

From his first months, Trindler has been meeting teams and clients across multiple locations, reinforcing the idea that Futurice isn’t just a regional success story – it’s a global force in the making.

At the same time, he’s instilling a renewed business discipline. Further expansion in the DACH region, the UK, and the Nordics requires data-driven decisions, a deep client-first approach, and localized strategies. As he puts it, “We need to keep the best of our Finnish DNA, but we can’t rely on one home market forever.”

Continuity and reinvention

If there’s one theme that defines Trindler’s approach, it’s balancing what works now with what’s next – between continuity and reinvention. He wants the teams to stretch themselves into new frontiers, drawing on his belief that businesses, like orienteers, must keep scanning the landscape ahead.

Looking ahead to 2025, he sees AI, strategic (re)design, and data analytics as critical enablers – not just for business, but also for wider social impact.

“There’s no future without history,” he reflects. “But the best way to honor our past is to keep evolving.”

For a company that has thrived on reinvention, Trindler’s leadership marks a bold new chapter.

In an increasingly competitive landscape, his cross-continental perspective is exactly what Futurice needs to go from a big name in Finland to a European force in digital transformation.

After all, as he says: “Life is short. Why not aim for the Champions League?”
